Tag Yourself

A Tag is simply a label. Tagging yourself means to attach labels to yourself – words that describe who you are and/or your skills.

Tagging makes it easy for other people to find you including potential employers.   Tags could be skills (.net, JAVA), industries (FMCG, Advertising) or just general tags (leader, guru, etc).  For example, if you are a whiz at developing Web 2.0 sites, you might tag yourself as ‘Web 2.0’.  You might be a ‘brand strategist’; maybe your work history included a stint at ‘Apple’; ‘goal oriented’ might sum you up best.  Whatever tags you think will best sum up your uniqueness, skills, personality or goals will help you expand your career network. If someone searches a word on the site that you have yourself tagged as, you will appear in the search results.  So, for example, if an employer searches ‘Web 2.0’ and ‘expert’ and you have tagged yourself with either or both of those terms, the employer will find you immediately.

To add tags, click on My Tags on the left navigation bar and follow the prompts on the screen.

Keep your tags updated to ensure you making yourself visible with your best attributes.
